Artiste Robert INDIANA - Peintre -

Major American painter and graphic designer. Like other POP artists, he has adopted the language of commercial billboards, plaques and traffic signs for the purposes of art, but his attitude is more celebratory than most of his contemporaries.

He composes with geometrical shapes and boldly colored sign lettering. Works by Indiana include a 30ft. LOVE sculpture at City Hall in Philadelphia, as well as original paintings in most major Contemporary art museums.

Indiana's LOVE image is known and admired world wide. Graphic editions of the image have become extremely popular and highly collectible. Indiana is one of the last truly celebrated POP artists of the twentieth Century.
