By challenging the valuation of traditional function over experimentation, these
board designs force us to question our whole rationale for doing things. They call
into doubt the assumption of practical efficiency as a moral good, which
interrogates our entire way of measuring the worth of time, which in turn rattles
capitalism to its very core. They shake the notion of what it means to generate
meaning, and therefore value, and therefore wealth. They ask us to reconsider our
deepest priorities. Perfect Designs is not merely a clever shaping venture. It is a
liberation, both creatively and politically. An unshackling of the mind that the large
corporations, turning out millions of identical boards, don't even want you to
experience. The sad truth is that there are powers in this world that profit from our
dehumanization, from the deadening of our spirits, from our ever lowering
expectations of reality. In this context, every Perfect Designs board is a poem
cutting across the waves of spreadsheets. And every Perfect Designs fin is a
weapon. A weapon in the war to defend our souls.
