My idea of a good portrait is not only related to the "look alike" necessity. First of all, it's a meeting between the model and me, I can't succeed if the model is not willing to share with me his or her emotion, feelings, though. I can't work from pictures because I need this connection, this exchange. One pose is enough but it's the basis of my creation.
I fully share the idea expressed by Paul Valery : "A work of art should always remind us that we did not see what we were looking at."
