Born in the Touraine region, Yves de Saint Jean has settled in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, with his brushes, his paint tubes, his watercolors boxes and his easel. He loves the landscapes and the rich life of the countryside. He writes while listening to Mozart, Handel, Jazz and all sorts of popular music. He gets his inspiration during his walks through the villages, the markets, the beaches and the seaside, but it is back in his studio that his work comes to life: watercolors, wash-drawings, gouaches, oil paintings, all of them original compositions with delicate colors. From the beginning his books have had a faithful following and they have made their mark in France and abroad. He imagines them and illustrates them with his paintings. As you turn the pages you will discover a sensitive artist with a very personal way of looking at his environment.
