Separated printing, bill or poster ? Four-colour printing / Offset

A separated printing is a machine printing which uses the offset procedure. In contrast to lithography or illustrations, which need as many coats as nuances, offset printing only uses four colours. The original piece is reproduced from the primary colours and black (CMJN): cyan, magenta, yellow, black) that are more or less superimposed in a specific way. The thinner the weave is the better quality the piece will have.

Separated printings, bills or posters are made following the same procedure. The difference lies in the quality of the reproduction, the medium, and above all, in the customization of the reproduction.

A separated printing is a limited series which is numbered and individually signed by the artist himself/herself.

A bill (or a poster) is a more impersonal reproduction.

The four-colour printing is an industrial procedure, whereas engraving, illustration, and lithography remain as handicraft reproduction techniques.

This fact does not affect to the quality of the reproduction nor to the possibility of sharing the artist’s emotion and being able to compose beautiful frames for decorating the interior of your home.
