Grazyna Tarkowska, Painter and Scuptor, Master in Fine Arts, was born in Poland, she actually lives and works in France.
In 1987, she obtained the degree of the University Nicolae Corpenic of Torun in Poland. She expresses herself through painting, sculpture, performances, drawing and poetry.
She makes portraits, nudes, and sometimes abstract landscapes. Her works were analyzed by Jean-Luc Chalumeau and Gérard Xuriguera, two art critics and art historians.
Grazyna Tarkowska is firmly placed in the Expressionnist Current, even though she has a palette close to the french colorist tradition. Grazyna Tarkowska exhibited in France, Poland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, the United States and China.
Away from theories of "Art for Art" or conceptual art, Grazyna Tarkowska wants to convey a message to the man through her paintings, a message of spirituality, mysticism, shared humanity.
"... Today, Grazyna Tarkowska's paintings demonstrates the beauty of colors. But her case, to my mind, represents the specific strength of expression. We can get that in the wealth of lines and contours, which naturally agree with the colors : it can ben a determinant role in the evolution of narration, to cause the destruction of the work.
I think that Grazyna Tarkowska, in her works, in her art, have a deep reflexion about the reasons of the natural and spiritual history destruction, and about how all the effects, which impact on the human uncertainty, occur. She seeks the strength of individual witnesses to comment, explain that. I admire that passion..."
