STEPHANE SPITTAEL
Born in 1967 at Lille in France. A member of the association " La Maison des artistes" and of author's society : A.D.A.G.P.
Stéphane Spittael studied for five years at the Ecole supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Tourcoing before obtaining in 1992 the " Diplôme National Supérieur d' Expression Plastique"
Between 1993 and 1997 he lived and worked at the " Station Mire " (World Station) studio, a collective studio complex uniting several artists in an old textile factory.
From 1997 for five years he lived and worked on the island of La Réunion ( Indian ocean ) .
In 2002, he returned to France and established himself in the Dordogne ( Périgord).
OEUVRE. The principal theme in the work of Stéphane Spittael involves the relation of Man with the natural world ( Mother Nature ), drawing our attention to the abuses and dangers contained within.
Each of his works contains a hidden message which we as spectators are invited to encrypt through associations of tone and color, riddles between word and image.
Stéphane ' s dry humour and divert manner of painting plunge us divertly into his poetic world, a harmonious fusion of signs and colours.
