Présentation
Portrait de Fady SALIBA

Born in 1968 in Lebanon from a Lebanese mother and a Lebanese-American father. At 11, I break my piggy bank and spend all my savings on my very first easel, palette, brushes and colors.  My first “work” featured a vase with big flowers. I was proud of it as I showed it to my grandma who lived with us during her convalescence; she congratulates me confirming that my apples are beautiful!Since then I paint.
At 18, I join the Academy of Fine Arts in Beirut. Child of war, living in an immoral world, I use my brush to fight and cover up the nonsense of life.
Gradually I have collected some of my paintings scattered here and there across the world, from people who followed me silently throughout my early drafts. Past and present grow together tracing my path. Many existing and upcoming paintings are the highlights of my trips.
Finally, after many refusals to exhibit my work "avoiding people who chose art to match their curtains", I let my paintings decide their own fate…
Between France, Lebanon and Prague where I currently live, I paint and exhibit. But isn’t it hard to “literally” exhibit oneself in front of all eyes! It is the actual term because in every work one could see a moment of my life, my smiles and moods, my happy days and my shadows. I, alone go forward, stumble and fall, live and become. I am in constant thrive for the matter, the substance, the shape and color... finally to realize that I am looking for myself through a certain remake.
A painting is always an appointment.
Thank you for being there.
