Kyoko MORIMOTO

Born in 1944 in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, JAPON.

"I have been making tapestries ever since I was student in art school, and the theme that runs most consistenly through the tapestries I make is people. My aim is to produce a world of images, and to express it through representations of people in their daily lives, touching, feeling, and loving.
Over the years I have lived in various parts of Japan, in the United States, and in France. From my intercations with many people who were different in language and in color I have learned how to achieve mutual understanding though mutual feelings of joy and sadness. And I have made sketches of the many people I have met and with whom I have been connected in my life..."
