Jacques MOREAU - GAUDRY is a painter of the peace of the soul with an innate and marvellous sense of the harmony of the universe of which he catches the purest and truest energies to make a structured and coloured matter but yet induces to dream; contrast of force and softness. Each work is preceded by an elaborate study drawn on kraft paper, which transposed on the canvas reveals to us the dexterity in the graphics and the art of composition of the artist. After a long practice of his art, this original and rich colorist, shares with us his inner voyage in the search of "his wonderland".
"With the approach of the storm at Sauson, clouds of red, white and blue tear the skies open, while meadows of a tender green, white houses and clear water gleam in the sunlight. In the evening at Pontcroix, the blue of night cannot succeed in fading the fiery reds of the houses. At Venice, in the veiled light of the early morning, the " pescheria " is coloured with mauve pinks, pearlescent in their extreme delicacy...
Moreau-Gaudry can suggest even the violence of a gust of wind when leaving a church, and if the sky is dark this time, multi-coloured umbrellas give the scene an unexpected gaiety. All like the red barks at Roscoff, intensifying the coloured greys of the atmosphere. "
