Présentation
INVISIBLE FLESH
My current
body of work dealing with globalization issues and invisble narratives.
The interesting thing of this series is the usage of bubblewrap and
other transparent material as a prinicipal medium.
AMATE
I
worked with paper that is traditionally made from smashing boiled bark
fibers in Mexico. The indigenous cultures of Mexico historically have
made accordion books, religious art, and collages with amate paper. My
inspiration comes from pre-colombian art, artisan work, and pop
culture.
COMMUNITY ART PROJECTS
"Urban
Rhythms: Crossroads of the Dancer" was created by the artist assisted
by the youth of Urban Credo and Ruiz-Belvis Cultural Center in 1998. It
depicts popular Ghanan textile patterns, Hip Hop graffiti,
Afro-Caribbean religion and the composition of Chicago's 60's mural
activism reflecting the diaspora in the Americas. "Gale Academy Mural
2001" was completed in summer 2001 by the artist assisted by the
students of Gale Academy. The mural was centered on technology and
education.
