Born in Amchit, Lebanon. Jean Lahoud completed his college education at the "College des Apotres" Jounieh.
He carried on to the Fine Arts Academy of the "St. Esprit" University in Kaslik, where he obtained his architecture diploma in 1982 with distinction.
He always possessed salient capabilities in the fields of drawing, painting and photography. In 1987, he traveled to Ecuador in South America, where he remained for six years and elevated his hobby of painting to a more professional level.
Being in his country of birth once again, Jean Lahoud is planning to reveal his works for public acclaim using the Internet as means of communication.
In his opinion, painting must be different from reality, which can easily captured in snapshots. It is a field of mysterious entities and abstract concept hidden in the artist's mind.
Painting is a form of reflection of one's thoughts and visions using the language of the arts, whereby the artist projects the image of a new situation, creature, or world. It can be compared to dreams, with their lack of reality yet wealth of creation.
