La première phase de création qui marque le début effectif de ma démarche plastique en particulier picturale, fut caractérisée par une évidente influence expressionniste. Effectivement, elle consistait a traduire formellement mes sentiments existentiels propres les plus fondamentaux . Mes premières peintures seraient donc une conséquence directe et logique du jugement que je tirais a cette époque la de mon expérience personnelle de l’existence, des relations humaines et de la vie en général. En tous les cas, mon acte ne pouvait que mettre toujours en avant tous ces troubles et souffrances qui ne cessaient d’envahir mes peintures, occupant l’essentiel de ma production artistique. Elle est d’ailleurs l’ultime refuge où vinrent s’abriter ces états d’âmes n’espérant de la sorte qu’apparaître au regard de ceux qui ont en besoin. Offrant à chaque apparition une nouvelle figure, inévitable échafaudage dont aucune de mes représentations n’est parvenue à se débarrasser jusque la.
Aprés cette premiere periode expressionniste qui a duré cinq années, mon expression plastique s'est vue cependant elargir ses frontieres techniques d'expression. Limitées jusque la par la simple bidimensionalité du cadre rigide de la toile classique , mes representations adoptent dorenavant toute formes theoriques et materielles de representation possible qu'exigerait le concepte vehiculé par chaque oeuvre. Il s'agirait probablement d'art contemporain , cette nouvelle orientation prise par ma pratique artistique que j'ai toujours consideré comme etant ma signature personnelle dans ce destin commun.
My artistic career began concretely when I was already student in the school of fines arts of Algiers. Between 2002-2007; I realized portrait-paintings with expressionist influence. I treated existential feelings, figures and humanity through individual portraits representations. After this period, I changed my technique, subjects and artistic style, indeed I have been more interested by assemblage, sculpture, installation and collectif performance, and it has been simply a natural evolution of my artistic language, because I changed subjects of my inspiration and concepts that I’m trying to improve since .
For the moment, I am focusing on a precise area such as immigration, colonization and social problems but the immigration’s field remains for the moment the most frequent theme in my artworks.
The philosophy of my artworks is characterized by my aim to create in each piece an original and personnel concept, which is built in his turn by several subjects or themes. I am searching to make every artwork like an around point, a meeting point of ideas, phenomenon’s from different fields of our knowledge, our historical heritage, popular culture and natural space. Naturally, I introduce those different ideas through different process, sometimes it’s symbolic, and sometimes it’s a narrative or descriptive attitude. I combine between images, objects themselves (readymade), words or sentences with materials and scenography, in order to express at least one phrase explaining my idea in each piece because: to be able to express one only sentence by piece is already an huge satisfaction for me. I use time’s dimension to elaborate my representations , the different elements of creation as graphics or plastic options are still organized to suggest the past , the present or the future , because I believe that in our history there are too much expressive and strong elements to use in our expression of the present time, and this can be down by several ways , and can take several shapes.
