Martine JACOBS

Peintre

Anglais
The fact that my father was a designer and my mother his regular model has shaped both my character and my creativity. As a young child I would wander around my father?s large studio, with twelve girls and twelve industrial sewing machines that zoom the entire day.
The drawing room was not always forbidden territory, and sometimes I could enter the sanctuary. Large drawing tables and enormous sheets of paper, rolls of fabrics from all parts of the world adorned this big space.

"After college I started to travel to many foreign countries. The images I saw made deep impressions in mine experience. I soon realized that I wanted to express these experiences, through drawing and painting. I visited museums, markets and other places where people gathered so that I could draw. I also attended a private Art Academy in Amsterdam. I began to exhibit after finishing the Academy Searching and creating innovations in visual art today is quite a challenge, since so much has already been done. Can figurative art be innovative and enrich? I believe it can. I'm passionate about discovering new ways of blending life with art."

There is work of Martine Jacobs in private and government collections and there are many internet exhibitions around the world
