Bernard GIRAUDI

Born on the seventh of April 1940 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
Bernard Giraudi trained at the school of applied arts in Reims, Champagne and qualified at the art schools in Aix-en-Provence and Paris. From 1962 he worked as an interior decorator for private clients and as a fashion designer for Cacharel and Ungaro. He then went on to work on fashion shows for Pierre Cardin, Hugo Boss, Sonia Rykiel, Louis Féraud, Léonard and Ralph Lauren.
He created interior set designs for the film director Jean-Paul Rappenau," Cyrano de Bergerac", "Le Hussard sur le toit", "Les Milles",... Since 1994 he has devoted himself entirely to painting and in 1995 he won a prize awarded by the town of Aix-en-Provence. His paintings which are mainly on canvas use a variety of techniques, acrylic, oil, ink, pastel and pencil. The most recent paintings represent modern man, locked inside himself, suffering, trying vainly to loosen his chains and find his own identity.
Bernard Giraudi pursues this form of expression with energetic movements.
