Colette Fuchs at Alex
"Alex gallery is showing a fine group of prints by Colette Fuchs, Viennese born artist who has lived in Israel since 1965. Most of her work are silk-screens combining figurative and abstract elements. Fuchs's subject matter includes personal themes, such as a long-lost childhood friend, and political subjects, such as the search for piece in the Middle East. But what distinguishes her work is her minimalistic approach to print making. She uses soft colors carefully and sparingly and leaves a great deal of white space in her compositions. As a result, they look like water colors with remarkable depth and spatial effects."
Ferdinand Protzman, Washington Post, March 16, 2000
