AnglaisFrançais
Marc moved to the Varengeville region in 1950, and has an excellent relationship with the fishermen in the village of Quiberville and the port of Dieppe. He possesses a marine certificate, which permits him to participate in all of the life on board where he can make numerous sketches. Marc says that the local marine life, such as beaches and boats, are his principal source of inspiration.
Marc's works have been exhibited intermittently in the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Independants, the Salon des Artistes Dieffoir, the Salon de la Côte d'AIbâtre (where he took a First Prize) and in the Salon de la Marine in Paris. In 1995, he had his first special one-man exhibition in the Paris district of Maine. Since 1995, he has had annual one-man shows in Varengeville sur Mer, which is a village of painters including Soabey, Delacroix, Monet, Boudin, Lebourg, Pissaro, Braque and Miro.

About the artist
Marc Feuillet was born in Paris in 1927. He grew up in an atmosphere that was both artistic and supportive. His parents provided him with inspiration and varied art materials, as well as many visits to the Louvre and the Orangerie, where many of the Impressionists works are shown. When he was 16, Marc's parents arranged an apprenticeship with painter Pierre Gérome (winner of the Premier Grand Prix de Rome), at whose house he learned oil painting techniques, pigment crushing, preparation of canvases, perspective, and much more.
In 1948, he was called up for military service in Algeria. At this time, he painted many frescos in the mess, classrooms and other army rooms.
Demobilised in 1950, he returned to Beaux Arts and the house of Pierre Fleury, a marine painter, who strongly influenced him in the direction of marine painting.
