Jean-Paul BOCAJ

Jean-Paul Bocaj lives and works in the south of France. His brightly coloured acrylic canvases untiringly portray the beauty of the female figure. The viewer is drawn from the moment he sets sight on these paintings, it is impossible to resist the charm of these women.
Bocaj likes shapely women caught in a near ecstatic state with a touch of fetishism. The painter's strength lies in his ability to give life to these figures and to create a personal history for each of them : Madonnas, mothers or adventurers, they stare provocatively at the onlooker.
They are without a doubt both superb and unsettling, taking pride of place to the detriment of the male gender.
Bocaj definitely opts for the humourous side of his subject. Composition and movement are equalled only by his flamboyant palette. More than one fire will be set ablaze.
